Today friday 31 of august, we are remembering our teacher’s from
the past, who have died from cancer a long time ago. These teachers:
Siaosi Tongilava vand Whae Emily have been here at Glen Innes School
for 3 whole years but sadly died.

Fraction games

I was playing a game of matching improper fractions with mixed numbers and pictures.  I had matched 1 1/4, but the picture that I had was wrong, I also had 1 whole with 6/6. This game was confusing for me because I didn't have a great understanding of it. Next , I would like to learn how to learn and get a good understanding of it.

How to make a simple compost bin

Today afternoon Mr Nidoo showed us how to make a simple compost bin. First he said that worms don't like citrus and also worms like dark places. First Mr Nidoo grabbed two buckets, one with holes and one with no holes. He said that you had to put the holey bucket on the bottom, then he grabbed food scraps and threw it in the bucket. After he just grabbed a handful of bokashi mix and threw it in the bucket, he told us that this mix will take the smell away.  After that he told us, this is how simple it is to make a compost bin.

Ninja Chicks

Walht: summarize and take notes.

This week we revisited writing a summary and taking notes.
My teacher read this story to us and we had to write a summary
using the ‘W’ words.

Here is my summary:

One evening, two chickens named Hansel and Gretel lived
at a cupe, they practiced ninjutsu for self defence on a very hungry
fox. But One day pa disappeared and no one knew,
until Hansel and Gretel  noticed something was wrong.
They quickly moved into the deep forest where they found
an old cotitch, there they found pa trapped in a little cage,
Hansel and Gretel got trapped in too. There mother chicken came
back to the old coach and battled the fox. As she fort she, knocked
him out and opened the the cage

Te Tuhi Art Gallery

Last Tuesday, We went on a bus trip to Te Tuhi. When we arrived at the art gallery, we walked in a sat down on the floor waiting for an assistant to come and take us to learn how to do a 3D collage. At the the end of the day we had to draw anything using a paper camera, then later we had take the bus back to school.

Food for Thought #2

Last Thursday, Adele from the heart foundation volunteered our class to walk down to Pak n save. We had to learn how to read and learn the per 100's column. We had to complete a sheet filled with different kinds of fruits and vegetables that we had to put in order.
